How much can I make in a Career in Writing?

I find a Career in Writing very interesting. Almost everyone seems to be talking about How to start a Career in Writing, while I want to first develop an understanding of What is a Career in Writing. It had been a while since I was researching about a Career in Writing, when I came across:

Anjali Khurana's overview!

Anjali Khurana has 1 year of professional experience in Writing. Anjali Khurana has worked in Writing as Writer in Various Writing Assignments. In Anjali Khurana's own words, this is how Anjali Khurana got into Writing: "I was born and brought up in Faridkot, a town in Punjab. I did Hotel Management from Hyderabad and while doing HM I realized that I have an interest in writing. After completing my graduation I shifted to Mumbai and there worked with various companies such as IBM, UTV, Hungama, Shemaroo. While working with these companies I took various writing projects. In June 2017 I quit my job and started doing freelancing in writing projects for various companies."

Career Video on Writing

In a video, Anjali Khurana has talked about various aspects of a Career in Writing. Anjali Khurana started by explaining Writing as: "Writing is writing for reward or as a profession, or it is any form of written communication produced in a workplace environment or context. Professional writing involves the use of precise language to convey information in a way that is easily understood by its intended audience, and it may be directed to inform, persuade, instruct, stimulate debate, or encourage action." It was a very interesting video and I enjoyed watching it.

It was a welcome change to see the video touch upon Education as theoretical knowledge needed to excel at Writing, and not merely as Qualifications needed to enter Writing. Anjali Khurana touches upon these in the Education section of the Video:
  • General Knowledge
  • History
This Career demands specific Skills which only an experienced professional can lay out.
Anjali Khurana then explains why these Skills are essential for a Career in Writing:
  • Observation
  • Eagerness to Learn
  • Great Memory
  • Networking
  • Unbiased
There are great positives of this Career.
Anjali Khurana believes that the following are some of the Positives of a Career in Writing:
  • Social Impact
  • Freedom to Express
  • Private Time
  • Respect
Challenges define a Career as much as the Positives of the same.
And, Anjali Khurana believes that one needs to prepare for following Challenges of a Career in Writing:
  • Work Life Balance
  • Distracting
  • Underpaid
  • Misconceptions
  • No Credits

In the final section of the video Anjali Khurana talks about How a day goes in a Career in Writing. This video is by far the best video on a Career in Writing, that I have ever come across.
